Flu Pandemic? Send in the marines!

Good old George... He's always keen to recognize threats to America. In this case, the troublesome rise of Avian Influenza and the risk that it may trigger the next flu pandemic. The problem is that his solution is always the same. Bush's plan is to give the military the right to enforce quarantines. A military response to a healthcare crisis... This man is a one-trick pony.

I would probably suggest increased funding to vaccine research and healthcare. I think resources would be better spent this way, than to have armed troops standing at the door of sick people. It's not a bright idea, as troops can get sick and contagious too. I guess Bush's plan is basically to quarantine or shoot anyone who is sick, but I suppose that's a typical Republican's idea of healthcare.
