Passports please.

Dear Travellers,

The United States plans to up security at their Mexican and Canadian borders. They will start demanding passports from Canadians who want to enter the United States. The Reuters report is here.

They claim to be big on liberty and freedom, but it looks a lot like a paranoid police state down there. I'm not going to bash the United States for boosting their border security, since it's well within their right to do. I just think it's kinda sad that it came to this.

On that note, do you really think that demanding passports is enough? I mean, they can be forged if one were so inclined. How about fingerprinting, retina scanning, and urine samples? The next time I'm off to the States, I'll voluntarily leave a urine sample. It's up to them if they want to collect it or not.
