Runners Beware: The Nike 10K is back.

Dear self-respecting runners,

That shoe company that focused on selling expensive basketball shoes to high school kids wants to turn a whole new generation of runners into corporate whores. That's right... the Nike 10K is back in town.

They'll bribe you with T-shirts, caps, and dri-fit socks.... but if you have any dignity, you will NOT sign up for this race. Why? Because the Nike 10K isn't a run so much as it's an ad campaign for Nike. The marketing campaign for this race is insane, and they are pouring tons of money into promoting the race and their so-called high performance running shoes. I hate to tell them, but if you're a real runner, you don't run in Nike shoes. You probably wear New Balance or Saucony.

I ran the last Nike 10K about 2 years ago, and I have felt dirty ever since. I implore you all, if you value your dignity and self-respect, DO NOT sign up for the Nike 10K. Sign up for a respectable run.
