Pringles Manufacturer: Procter and Gamble Inc. Primary ingredients: potato, vegetable oil Calories per serving (24 g): 137 Cal Summary: They claim that once you pop, you can't stop. They come in a variety of flavors, and have been helping chubby North Americans watch TV for as long as I remember. They are addictive, and damn tasty. | Pocky Manufacturer: Ezaki Glico Co. LTD. Primary ingredients: wheat flour, sugar Calories per serving (18.7 g): 100 Cal Summary: They claim to be the super snack. With bold flavors as Green Tea, White Chocolate, and Men's Pocky, these little sticks have become a staple snack food for Asians everywhere. They are also addictive and damn tasty. |
So what do you think? Which is better? Pringles or Pocky? You have to admire the portability of Pocky, and I can kinda see kids running around with a box of Pocky during lunch. Seeing a kid with a can of Pringles during lunch would truly be scary. On the other hand, you can modify a Pringles container to improve your wireless reception... I don't think you can do that with a Pocky box. They also have printed trivia on Pringles chips, which is difficult to do with Pocky. But could Pringles be brave enough to market a Men's Pringles in bold green packaging? This is really a tough call.

Pocky vs Pringles: A comparative essay
Choosing between Pocky or Pringles depends on your location. If you are in an urban setting, Pocky is the snack of choice because you can pretend they are cigarettes plus they don't contain saturated fats (I think). But if you are in a forest, you'll need Pringles because they are highly flammable (for a signal fire, right?) and one container could probably sustain a whole village of people for a week if North Americans weren't such lard asses.
Pocky.. but they are poison to me.. -- your anonymous friend SIMON.
Hey, if anyone's interested in stickers of pocky containers (for those who are into those kinds of obscure collectibles), a certain comic-loving bastard will be selling some (among other things) at the Toronto comic convention at the end of this month. We have chocolate, strawberry, almond and yes, the "men's" pocky stickers!
